Case Study on the Upgrade of Ceramic Support Components in High-Temperature Heat Treatment Equipment

In equipment such as high-temperature sintering furnaces and crystal growth furnaces, the supporting components that bear the workpieces need to operate under extreme temperatures for a long time. This case presents an example of using high-strength zirconia ceramics to replace traditional metal alloy supporting components, in order to solve the problems of high-temperature deformation and contamination.

Challenge

Realize the non-destructive manufacturing of complex and precise structures

(1) When traditional mechanical processing is used to manufacture three-dimensional curved, fine or non-through channels inside ceramics, it is prone to cause micro-cracks and hidden damages within the material, thereby affecting the reliability and lifespan of the components.

(2) The traditional methods are unable to simultaneously ensure the micron-level dimensional accuracy and extremely high requirements for inner wall smoothness, resulting in non-compliance with fluid performance standards.

Solution

Apply the intelligent forming technology based onmaterial flow

Our core solution is to avoid direct processing of hard sintered bodies and instead precisely control the fluidity of ceramic materials in the gel state. By applying high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations to the un-sintered ceramic gel preform, it can be made to instantly become a flowable state and be precisely removed, thereby directly and non-destructivelycarvingout any complex three-dimensional structure, thus fundamentally avoiding damage.

Result

Realize more precise and diverse manufacturing of ceramic fluid components

(1) Successfully fabricated complex three-dimensional ceramic microchannels without internal damage and with high surface finish (Ra 0.4 µm).

(2) Enabled the realization of innovative designs such as biomimetic channels and integrated multi-functional fluid chips, thereby enhancing product performance.

(3) Shortened the development cycle of highly complex parts and provided an efficient solution for small-batch precision manufacturing.
